Two low intensity beams of Infrared (IR) light of different wavelengths are projected onto the vehicle. |
| 2. |
Two digital pictures are taken of the vehicle using cameras specifically designed to image at the two IR wavelengths. |
| 3. |
The two pictures are processed to produce one enhanced "image" of the occupants' skin. |
| 4. |
Any non-facial features in the scene are then discarded using software based algorithms. |
| 5. |
The software then enumerates the isolated 'faces'. |
| 6. |
The count is overlaid on the image, along with a timestamp, location information and any other overlay information required by the customer. |
| 7. |
Green dots are applied to the detected 'faces' thereby preserving driver anonymity. |
