Vehicle Occupancy Ltd. (VOL) is a business dedicated to the development, manufacture and support of technology to detect and count the occupants in moving road vehicles. It was incorporated in 2004 following the successful completion of research into practical methods of automated vehicle occupancy detection.

We are now taking orders for dtect , the first commercially available version of our technology. dtect is in the final stages of development and production is planned to commence in the latter part of 2007. Demonstrations of our prototype dtect unit can be arranged on request.

The current VOL organisational structure is a product of the Company’s evolution. It is built upon the skills and resources from two organisations:

• Laser Optical Engineer (LOE), a specialist in the development of innovative laser based metrology and optics technology; provide VOL with research and product development capability.

• Vehicle Sensor Technology Ltd, a subsidiary of Avingtrans PLC, provides commercial, manufacturing and sales expertise.

VOL is a United Kingdom registered company based in the midlands of England. It is owned by those who have nurtured its development.

Our aspiration is for VOL to evolve into an independent commercially viable entity with the skills, resources and reputation to make it the world leader in vehicle occupancy detection technology.
